yes yes, date night is any night

Get ready for the cutest idea you may have seen in awhile.

This isn't any old date jar. This is one filled with memories waiting to be made! You color code each stick for different kinds of dates. For example, in this picture you can see red sticks, dark pink sticks, and light pink sticks.

The red are for more expensive, more extravagant ideas, such as a:
  • Bed and Breakfast

  • Hotel stay for the night

  • Local (outdoor perhaps?) concert and dinner

  • Weekend away

  • Couples Massage

  • The dark pink are for at home dates like:
  • Cooking challenge; where you cook something special for each other & see who is the master chef

  • Fondue and board games

  • Puzzles and pizza

  • Popcorn and a chick-flick

  • Crosswords and breakfast for dinner

  • Making a dessert together

  • Your favorite TV show marathon

  • Homemade pizzas and an Italian movie

  • & the light pink are for things away from home but less expensive than the red and can be more spur of the moment, such as:

  • Dinner and a movie (his and her choice)

  • Mexican night; go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant & then salsa dance after!! (favorite idea..)

  • Drive-In date (second favorite!)

  • Dessert only date (wait this one sounds fabulous too)

  • Decor window shopping for the house

  • Bowling

  • Dinner at your favorite place (always a great choice)

  • Just remember this: date night is ANY night, so throw you & your sigfnificant other a party to celebrate love! Enjoy being with each other, & maybe stop by Soel on your way out.. :)

Use this with your hubby, boyfriend, or even a fun girls night with your very best treasures!

Can't wait to hear what other ideas you think of to put on these babies.

    Happy dating!

    rainy day reads

For some reason a stormy day complete with thunder, lightning & the biggest best raindrops makes me immediately think of curling up on the couch with some hot cocoa & a lovely book. Heaven right?

Well I am here today to let you in on a couple secrets for some classics that may just catch your attention. It's time to find your nearest library, book or kindle store, or Itunes to get these absolutely nothing but wonderful books.

& without any further adieu, here are some perfectly pleasant rainy day reads :)

1 The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
This is a "revenge thriller also set in France after Bonaparte: a masterpiece of adventure writing."

2 Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
This is a story with "obsessive emotional grip and haunting narrative." & don't forget that we have this edition just especially for your little kiddos available at Soe!

3 Little Women by Louisa M. Alcott
A "Victorian bestseller about a New England family of girls" & while you're at it you've GOT to rent this movie. To die for!

4 Huckleberry Finn by the one & only mister Mark Twain
"This picture of Mississippi life is profoundly moral and still incredibly influential." A classic must read. Period.

5 The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
A great "Jazz Age novel." I LOVE this book.. but the movie is also incredible so you might as well just rent that to :)

Let me know if you have anymore recommendations because I'd love to spice up my library at home with some new perfect rainy day reads!

&& Please enjoy this storm just as much as I am!! Haha.

    plaids plaids plaids

    plaid/plad/

    Noun:
    1. Checkered or tartan twilled cloth, typically made of wool.
    2. Any cloth with a tartan pattern
    3. Too adorable to resist
(ok maybe I added that last one..)
But it's true! With fall comes chill, & it seems that plaid is the perfect solution. The nice thing about plaids is that you can get them in a flannel or a lightweight cotton. So many options.
this outfit just brings happiness. period. top $118 sweater $72 pants $168 necklace $84

look at the BACK on this top.. to die for. & these are the softest pants you'll ever feel in your life.. I am not kidding one bit. I tell you, so soft. Genetic Denim has done it again! top $98 pants $187

    de-stress by diy

the beginning of a new semester, a long week at work, running children all over the town, & the endless to do list which never seems to be completed: these all spike the start of stress in the body. so with your crazy busy life, why not find some ways to treat yourself to inexpensive at home spa minutes. I'm telling you.. it takes just minutes to make & apply these. Too hard to pass up!

Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with a teaspoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of nutmeg. The mask should feel like a thick paste. After it’s all mixed, apply the mask to your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it off with warm water, scrubbing softly in a circular motion for exfoliation.

For this Super Sweet Sugar Scrub combine 1 cup of brown sugar with a 1/2 cup of mashed avocado & top it off with 1 cup of olive oil. Use for a hot soak in the tub & you're set!

Just looking at this picture makes me feel relaxed already. This is a honey homemade hair conditioning treatment meant to soothe your hair & your mind (ok maybe I made the last part of that up, but it makes sense that it would! Just try it out..).       Mix a 1/2 cup of honey with a 1/4 cup of olive oil (use 2 tablespoons for normal to oily hair), add 4 drops of rosemary essential oil & 1 teaspoon of Xanthum gum (sold in health stores or on Amazon). You won't regret purchasing these not often heard of supplies!

I hope you get the chance to try some of these out.. or maybe just make time to do them! I promise it will be worth it. If you aren't pleased with the outcome, then I'll even let you give me the rest of your concoctions!

Haha, so thanks for joining me once again & I truly hope to see your beautifully relaxed faces coming into Soel soon. Let's not forget that shopping is a huge help to decreasing stress as well :)

    Happy Saturday to you all,
    xo Addison
