Today kylee and I created three different looks all

for under $200..here is what we came

up with!

Kylee paired her favorite Jack skirt and

a simple Bobi tank for just $93.76. This skirt

is beautiful, and seriously what more can a girl ask for.

In just a few months we are all going to wish these

BBdakota shorts were around..this Ellison tie top,

BBdakota shorts, and tosh flats make for a fun combo

These Sold Demin jeans are only $98! Not

only are they cute, they are so comfortable.

You also only unbutton to slide on and off, that

means no bulky zipper. This Cardigan, black tank, jeans,

DIY Valentine Hearts

Looking for the perfect Valentine's Day decoration for your home? These translucent hanging hearts are easy to make from waxed paper and crayons and they look beautiful!

Begin with a 12-by-16-inch sheet of waxed paper. Fold it in half along its length; unfold. Deposit wax-crayon shavings (made with a handheld pencil sharpener) evenly but not thickly across one half of the paper. Fold the clean half of the paper over the shavings. Crimp the three open edges with a 1/2-inch fold to hold the shavings.

Protect your ironing surface with kraft paper, and cover it with another sheet of kraft paper. Iron lightly on medium heat, checking after every few passes.

Stop when all the shavings have melted; let cool. Next, trace and cut out hearts of various sizes.

String each heart with a silk thread for hanging.

You can wear this Comme Toi dress with anything. I dare you to try it on.

Navy and white stripes will never get old. Of course, I want it. BBdakota has done it again.

Diesel jeans and sheer tie blouse with a beautiful Geranium necklace. I recently added the first pair of Diesel jeans to my closet and I am in love. New jeans make me so happy. Actually, anything new makes me happy.

Can't you see Courtney wearing this Ellison blouse and BBdakota skirt? I can.

Tulle dress. Valentines Day dinner? Absolutely.

Another Tulle dress and the best cardigan ever. My favorite thing about this dress is that it has a silky lining which means very very minimal static cling. I can't handle static cling but I love tights so most Sunday mornings are interesting and often frantic which leads to lots of static guard fumes in my house. Yellow tights and gray heels with this would be awesome.

This Jack Hoodie is on my list.

5 Denim Dilemmas SOLVED!!!!

There used to be a day when finding jeans wasn't so hard. Now there are countless choices like skinny or boot cut, high or low rise, light or dark that make it a little more stressful. Before you hit the racks check out these tips that might help you find denim that was made for you.

1. How do you find the wash that was made for you?

Well...to start off, dark denim is always more "slimming" than light denim. So, if your looking for something slimming go for the dark denim. If your looking for something to create curves where there are none, then try a pair of the faded patch jeans. This will accentuate the lighter areas.

2. Do some of your jeans get baggy or what I like to call "elephant knees" after just a few wears? If so, here is what you can do!

Since jeans that typically fit you like a glove in the store usually stretch out a 1/4 all the way around, go for the pair that is a little more snug. This may mean going a size smaller, but don't go too small. If you can't fit a finger between the waist band and the hip bone or the zipper is pulling, then they are too small.

3. Finding a style that fits your body type the best!

Everyone has a different body type, here are some styles that might flatter you. Some may say they have a "tummy," if so go for the medium or high rise jeans. This covers anything that might show otherwise. If your shorter in height, low rise might be your kind of jean. Of course your going to have to try high or low rise on and pick which you feel most comfortable in.

4. Whats the best length of denim to wear with heels and flats?

Once you’ve found a pair of denim you love, buy them and get the hemmed (we even do hems here at Soel, lucky for you). For bootcut and trouser styles worn with heels, the hem should rest half- to three-quarters of the way down the heel. Wearing flats? Jeans should skim the floor but not drag. Skinnier cuts should hit at or just below the ankle, with both flats and heels!!

5. What's the difference between a more expensive pair of jeans compared to something a little cheaper?

It's been said that a more expensive pair of jeans has a tighter weave so they are more likely to hold their shape and can be more durable than something a little cheaper. If you try on a more expensive pair with a cheaper pair you can usually tell the difference. Always remember less is more so save up for that perfect pair, and make sure to stick within your budget!!

We really hope this helps you find that pair of denim you have been longing for!!! Every girl needs a pair of denim they love and a pair lasts in their closet!!! Good Luck and may the force be with you.

DIY Light Bulb Decor

Craft time? I think so. Now that the holidays are over, we need some new fun decorations for our homes! What can be better than an inexpensive, fun, do it yourself craft? This week at Soel we have decided to feature all the fun things you can do with light bulbs!

Before jumping right into it, be sure to clean/strip out the bulb for all of theses projects. Look it up. Be safe :)

Twine Pears! SO chic and we love them lots.

Aquariums! Please don't lock a tiny fish in a tiny bulb! Find a larger bulb for this one. (Don't use energy-saving bulbs, they have mercury and could poison your fish!)

Beautiful clear(ish) vases. Saw off the tip of the bulb, and add in some water and flowers! We love how these look hanging in the sunlight!

Oil Lamp/Candle. With a tray, some glue, and some clear paraffin wax you can make these for super cheap!

Mini Terrariums. For these ones, again, do not use energy-saving bulbs. Use succulents, moss, or whatever you want! To water, spray down with a spray bottle.

Well, hopefully this has inspired you to reuse your old light bulbs for something crazy and inventive and very YOU!

We are all loving this new gold jewelry from Kris Nations and By Boe. It's the simple everyday jewlery...Goes with just about anything!!

Love this scarf paired with a simple Free People blouse.

This Ciel dress is perfect for a night out..especially with a cute pair of Frye boots. Not to mention it's very soft and comfortable. A night out in a comfortable dress...what more could a girl ask for?

Not only are these scarves perfect for adding some color to your outfit, but they can also be worn as a hood when its snowing or I guess rain since snow decided not to come this year. I think I need one of these..in every color.

I know I can't wait to put all my black and grey sweaters away and pull out something colorful. Here are two blouses I wouldn't mind haning in my closet.

DIY ornament

Want something as colorful and glorious as these babies on your tree this year? Keep reading to learn how to make...

You'll need: plain glass ornaments, and acrylic paint... promise that's it! Pick your favorite colors!

There is no trick to this. Pop the top off and put the paint inside drop by drop, swirling, and tapping the sides to encourage the streaking affect

As you can see there is a cool marbling affect happening inside the ornament as you swirl. Almost finished!

Let the ornaments rest for almost an hour just to make sure the paint sets.

Then pop the top back on and grab your favorite ribbon, burlap, or even yarn to hang your ornaments!

Christmas for Grandma!

Obviously these are gift ideas for anyone...but as I was walking around the store today I kept thinking, "my grandma would love these!"

So here are some ideas I came up with for MY grandma. Would YOUR grandma like these too??

Oh and guess what else...they are all under $30! score.

My grandma could sew all day, every day and be perfectly happy. Here's a book with lots of sewing ideas that anyone could do. It's even fun for the experts.

Okay so I'm in a really sentimental mood right now. It's unusual. I thought maybe this Gratitude journal would be cute to give a grandma. To add some extra cuteness..what if you wrote little messages throughout the journal? That way in a couple months as she's doing her daily writing...she'll see your handwritten notes! Okay, my mood is over.

If you are anything like me and are constantly looking for a cute idea for this years Christmas gifts then this post was made for you...Make your life simple, easy, and enjoy the giving!

Create a simple count down. Round up those old clothes pins, brush on some paint and glue. This is a great gift for families. Kids love to practive their package opening early on in the month.

Hot chocolate spoons! You will need plastics spoons, chocolate, peanut butter, and some extra ingredients to decorate...chocolate chips, coconut, crushed candy cane, and mini marshmellows.

Make it easy... When you are cooking for yourself go ahead and buy double or triple the ingredients and make some for your giftees. There is nothing better than a good hot meal to deliver for your Christmas gift! -Trust me I'd love you if you did this for me this season!

A fun way to deliver your batch of cookies. Write up your receipe on a white sheet of paper, roll it over your cookies, and tie ribbon on the ends. Lets simplify here. No gift needs to stress you out.

Cute! Smore Kits. Three ingredients needed is all: graham crackers, big marshmellows, and herseys chocolate bars. The hardest part: there is none, just put together and deliver.

Dear Diary...

Dear Diary,

Today was a Soel filled day. And it was wonderful. I woke up really early. Too early. I rolled out of bed and immediately put my Minnatonka moccasins on. I love them and my feet love them too.

This dry weather was making my lips super chapped. Good thing I have my Love and Toast lip balm to give them hydration.

After helping my sore lips I had to check my calendar. I love this cute datebook I got at Soel. Not only is it super cute, but the calendar days are blank so I can fill them out how I want! That way, if I take a break from life and don't have anything scheduled, I don't feel quilty for wasting 7 pages in my datebook.

And it's a good thing I checked that datebook of mine....I forgot I was hosting a dinner party tonight!

But before I could start setting up, I had to get little Ivy ready for school. She ate breakfast on her cute ladybug plate that I got at Soel. She's not a very good eater, but when I serve her food on darling plates like this she'll gobble it right up! The ladybugs followed her to school via lunch box and backpack. You could say all the other kids were jealous.

After Ivy was fed, I could hear Tommy crying from his crib. I got a bottle ready for him--a bottle that I love. It's glass and so nice to not have to worry about all that BPA stuff.

But guess what...Tommy wasn't hungry.

Instead he wanted his BlaBla Lion. He loves this thing. Good thing Soel has tons of them in right now. I may have to go buy more.

After the kids were taken care of, it was time to start getting ready for the party. I love this Big Vegan recipe book I got from Soel. Geez...is Soel cool or WHAT?

So many of my friends are Vegan and this book is FULL of good ideas. It was perfect for my party.

I made some yummy stuff for the party and then had to go pick up Ivy from school.

As I was waiting for her to come out, I got so many compliments about my Nashelle necklace. I told all the other moms to hurry in and go get their's from Soel for the holidays!

I did some Holiday crafting with Ivy and Tommy. They love to be involved and help me do things. In fact...they love it so much I may have to go buy another book like this at Soel. They have tons of "ideas for kids" books.

After our craft hour, I made one final cake for the party tonight. This Miette book from Chronical really saved my bacon. I followed their step by step tutorial on how to make the cake pictured on the cover. It was a success.

After all my cooking, baking, mommying was finished, I needed to do some internet surfing. Isn't my laptop case to die for? I love Fossil. I love Soel.

Our latest obsession at Soel is colored jeans! People often steer clear of such bold colored pants because it seems to be harder to put an outfit together. But guess what, it isn't!

Yarn Wrapped Letters

Have you seen our new letter wall? We're loving it!

It's a really fun, inexpensive craft that you could even have your kids help out with!

What you'll need:

-cardboard

-yarn

-hot glue

We were lucky enough to have our super talented employee, Amy draw all our letters.

Not all of us are that talented so you can trace your letters if you need to!

Once the letters are drawn, cut them out and pick your yarn.

When you're ready to start wrapping, we found it easiest to hot glue an end of the yarn to the cardboard to keep it in place. Keep the yarn tight and follow a pattern of wrapping to make it look good!!

You can put your finished letters on a wall, shelf, pretty much anywhere!

A Fun way to decorate your pumpkins without getting your hands in that yucky slimy stuff! Monogramming your families initial. I just traced out an "H" with some card stock, taped it on, and sprayed. Try it out! The new Krylon Glitter Blast Paint is awesome...cute in both burnt orange and gold!

Tools and Materials

•Half-bat template

•Thick black paper

•Bone folder

•Painters' tape or removable hooks

Hanging Bats

1.Print our half-bat template; then fold a piece of thick black paper down the middle, place the template on the fold, and trace. Cut out, and unfold. Use a bone folder to crease wings (and fold opposite the direction of body fold).

2.Poke holes in the bat for monofilament: in the tail for an upside-down bat, in the wings and head for one that's right side up. Hang from ceiling with painters' tape or removable hooks.

With fall just around the corner..jackets and other winter must-haves are hanging on Soel's shelves. Megan and I found some new ways to tie some of our favorite scarfs.

Undercoat

A beautiful way to accent any jacket or coat. Fold the scarf in half. Let it dangle around your neck. Let one end pass from under the other.Tuck the two ends underneath the undercoat.

Casual Swing

Fold the square scarf according to the bias band fold. Now, fold it in half lengthwise such that both the ends are on one side (A) and the other side forms a hoop (B). Let it dangle around your neck in this format. Please refer to the illustration. Take one end from side A and let it pass through hoop (B).

Now give the hoop one twist, and make the other end from side A pass through the empty opening in the hoop (B). The resulting shape should be as shown in the illustration.

Hobo was founded in 1991 by Toni Ray in Annapolis, Maryland on her dining room table.

Toni had been creating unique accessories for Georgetown Leather Design in Washington, DC., the “in” place for the hippie crowd to buy cool leather goods during the 60’s and 70’s. In those days, the bags were made by hand in the basement of the shop.

Then in 1991, she cashed in her life-savings, bought a beat-up van and headed up to New York to sell the first ‘Hobo’ collection.

Her philosophy for Hobo; women’s accessories should be both stylish and practical. Toni believed that quality and ‘cool’ never go out of style.

The Farmers Market every Saturday at the Riverwoods offers some great stuff. Here is a pancake mix we found today. Full of over ten grains, is healthy, and unique. Best part about this pancake mix is the sweet guy selling it. This bag cost $7. Try it out!

Homemade Face Masks

Don't know about you, but Hope and I are always searching for new beauty tips or how to's to try. Lately we've been slightly obsessed with finding a perfect homemade face mask that isn't too harsh on the skin. We haven't tried it yet but thought we'd share our most recent find!

enjoy!

Oatmeal and Honey Mask

for dry skin.

2 teaspoons of ground oats

1 teaspoon honey

Few drops of lemon juice

1 egg white

Mix them well and use diligently over face and neck with special care to eyes. Let it dry then rinse with cold water or wipe away with wash cloth. (A cold water rinse is a better option.) This home made recipe can be used to lighten the skin.

Honey Mask

for Oily Skin

mashed avocado

honey

Blend to make a good paste. Mask your face and neck well with this paste and wait for fifteen minutes. Rinse with cold water.

Everyone knows that when you buy a pair of Toms a pair is given to a child in need but I thought it would be interesting to get the full story behind how that all started. I for one always thought the owner’s name was Tom and that’s how they got called Tom’s. Read on to find out what the owner’s real name is.

“With every pair you purchase TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for one.”

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.

As of September 2010 TOMS had given out 1,000,000 shoes to children around the world.

We currently have about 20 different colors of Toms in, so come check them out!
