6 Styles, 1 Shirt!

Mustard Seed top paired with our Comme Toi citrus colored skirt.  Makes for a fun and cute outfit doesn't it?
If your looking for a more casual look you may want to pair it with our crop Citizen jeans.  We have also added our Hobo purse to the outfit.
A day at the office...why not throw our Spicey Girl coral dress over the Mustard Seed top.  Remember, bright colors and pleats are in this season!!
Here we have the Mustard Seed top styled with our Michael Stars dress underneath it.  To add a little variety to the mix we have put a belt around it.
Now tell me this outfit doesn't look so incredibly comfortable and stylish at the same time!  Here we have the top paired with a Michael Stars maxi skirt.  This outfit can be worn any where at anytime of day!
Isn't this a fun outfit?  It has everything a girl could wish for ...stripes, ruffles and colored jeans! Here we have it styled with our red Citizen jeans and a Tresics open cardigan.

DIY: Twine Chandelier

What You'll Need:
  • bouncy balls of various sizes (balloons would also work)
  • clear drying craft glue
  • hemp string
    estimated amounts needed:
    16 inch diameter ball—400 yards
    14 inch diameter ball—300 yards
    9 inch diameter ball—100 yards
  • plastic gloves (optional)
  • trash bag or small drop cloth
  • permanent marker
  • ball inflating needle
  • light fixture and hardware
2009_03_11_0307
1. Draw a circle on the ball with a permanent marker. This circle will mark a space on the lamp that needs to remain clear of string. The empty circle will be used in assembling the light fixture and will allow you to have access for changing light bulbs. If the light fixture you are using has lamp shades, make sure that the circles are big enough for the shades to easily pass through.

2. Cover your work surface with trash bags or a drop cloth, and put on gloves.
2009_03_11_0344
3. The best way to apply the glue is to squeeze a quarter size amount onto your fingers and run the hemp string through the glue and then wrap it around the ball. You can fill a shallow tub with the glue and run the hemp string through it, or you can apply the glue directly to the string from the bottle.

4. Glue and wrap, glue and wrap, glue and wrap. Just keep going. Try to wrap randomly to avoid criss-cross patterns. The more densely wrapped the lamp is the stronger it will be.

5. Make sure to avoid wrapping string over the circle area and apply extra glue to any weak areas.
2009_03_11_0028
6. Repeat the steps 1-5 to make multiple lamps. Let the glue dry completely.

7. Use the inflating needle to deflate the ball.
2009_03_14_0486
8. Remove the deflated ball from the lamp.

9. Lastly, follow the installation instructions that come with your light fixture. While installing the light string, feed the wires through the circle hole of the lamp and up through the top, so that the light bulb will hang down in the center of the sphere.

This website:http://www.craftynest.com/2009/03/hemp-pendant-lamps/ provides some great information and tips on which glue and light fixtures they would recommend.

Happy Monday :)

An outfit for every hour of the day!

You know those days when you have a lot going on and you feel like you have to change your outfit three times a day, just to fit every occasion?  Sometimes it can just be a pain.  This week we got in a new skirt that I think can solve that problem.  You can dress it up or down no matter what the occassion is and not to mention we are all drooling over it here at Soel!

So, your meeting up with some friends for lunch and you need something cute and fun to wear.

Here we have our BBDakota cotton skirt paired with our flowy BBDakota top and a belt to add a little accent and color (because this season it's all about color right?).

It may be a little chilly out so you might want to throw this new BBDakota chambray jacket on top!

Lunch is over and it is time to study or pick up the kids from school, so your looking for something casual and comfy.
Why not throw this Splendid top on.  Nice and warm and comfy!  Perfect for your mid day outfit.

Date time with whoever it might be husband, boyfriend, dad, brother, best friend!
When your about to hit the town it is always fun to get a little dressed up.  This blouse adds a dressy feel to the skirt.  It would also look great under any pencil skirt hanging in your closet.

Cost of skirt: $48.00

Hope this helps!
We hope you had a great Wednesday!

Look for LESS!

I don't know about you, but I know my bank account and I love finding looks for less.
Lucky for me (and all of you who feel the same), Soel just got in a bunch of new items that are so cute and for a great price!!  Come along and I will show a sneak peek of just a few items.

Okay, so I am basically in love with this dress.  It's so simple and can basically go with anything.  I also love the length, not too long not too short.
We have it paired with our Bobi open cardigan and a belt.  You could also put a chambry shirt over it and a scarf or even throw on an over sized shirt and a belt.
Cost for dress: $44.00

Now take a look at this maxi skirt.  To die for...I think so!
Gentlefawn just really knows how to do it.  The pattern and soft material makes for a pefect skirt.  Here's a little secret Kylee and I found out today...you can cut the bottom off if it's too long!  We have it paired with a Free People shirt and a lovely Circle Crochet scarf! Of course you could wear it with a Mod Bod tucked in and a cardigan over the top.
Cost of Skirt: $46.00

Happy Valentines! Right? Don't you think this is a perfect Valentines Date outfit??
The best part of this dress is the gold buttons down the back that you can't see.  We have put this with a bow belt and our Tree of Life necklace, but it would also look awesome with leggings and boots.  It's just one of those things you can dress up or down. Take your pick!
Cost of dress: $48.00

Now here is what you have really been waiting for...
These cute tanks range from $28-$42.  They would look awesome with a cardigan over the top and jeans or even tucked into a pencil skirt.  They are perfect for any occasion and any time of the day.  I am just going to say it...you've got to come check them out!!

Happy Wednesday to you all!

DIY: Make a Pretty Pouf

Sew This Hot Accent Today
Last weekend I was at the Sundance Outlet in Salt Lake when I feel in love with these floor pillows. Sadly I left without one, so I found a step-by-step guide that I would love to try because who doesn't want a pretty pouf?

Materials:
-Printouts of the pattern
-Scissors
-Tape
-2 Yards of 54-inch0wide linen burlap
-1 old light solid-color bed sheet--any size (or 3 years of 45-inch-wide muslin)
-Straight pins
-Sewing machine
-1 spool heavy duty/upholstery thread to match burlap
-2 large garbage bags full of fabric items for stuffing (old clothing, worn towels, fabric scraps)
-1 5# box of fiberfill
1 roll fusible-web tape
-Large embroidery or straight upholstery needle
-4 skeins embroidery floss to match or contrast
Gather your Tools
Patterns:
Download and print the patterns (number of copies of each shape needed is indicated on each pattern). Cut out the shapes.
Using tape, piece together the larger pattern following the instructions. When pieced together, the pattern will look like a rectangle with a triangle on each end.
Piece and tape together the octagon pattern
*Pattern is found at the website listed below
Put the Halves Together
Sew the Pouf
Stuff the Pouf
Add the Fiberfill
Baste the Top and Bottom Pieces
Remove Basting Stitches
There are step-by-step directions on this website:
Don't forget to send us a picture of your pretty pouf :)
Happy Monday!

we love new items

We got lots of stuff in this week! Pink Martini, Dogeared, Comme Toi, Coveted Clothing, Citizens, Fossil, Kate Quinn Organics and much more!  Scroll down for some pictures, and if you like what you see...get on in here!

Morgan put together this outfit pictured below.
Black and grey striped shirt from French Connection.
Cream sweater from Pink Martini.
And that black BBdakota skirt we've been posting about a lot this week. Think we're a little obsessed? Yes and we're not ashamed!

This top from Pink Martini is so different and pretty. The crochet add-on really spices the simple grey shirt up a bit. And it's only $34!

Another item from Pink Martini--this pink and black tank top.  Someone just tried it on with our Comme Toi pencil skirt and I wanted to trade them outfits right then and there. Tank top is $42. We paired it with some new Citizens cropped jeans that came in this week. You'd probably want to come in and try on these jeans before it's too late. That's all I'll say. Citizens are $176.
Our cute little Manni is sporting the UTAH necklace from Krisnations.  She's proud of her state, are you? If you aren't we can always try to special order you another state necklace.

This tan Pink Martini sweater is on my Valentines Day wishlist.  (is there such a thing?) Either way, I want it. $64.
I think every closet needs a simple white cardigan.  This Bobi cardi is perfect for dresses, jeans, leggings, etc. After you feel it you'll probably want to wear it with your pajamas because it's THAT comfy. We paired it  with a coral and navy blue darling dress from Yetts. Dress: $48 Cardigan: $44
Scarves are all the rage right now.  And this bright yellow one is beautiful! And it has a beautiful price too--$22.  Are you loving that pink number that's underneath the scarf? You're not alone. Made by Jack--this light pink sweater is $62.
These heart earrings are too perfect.  We also have a matching heart necklace. Perfect for V-day? If your boyfriend or husband is having a hard time picking something out for Valentines day, tell him to stop by the store and we'll help him out. AND we'll wrap it up all cute too. How much easier can it get??
Last but not least Kate Quinn Organics sent us some really cute children's clothes, bibs, and baby hats. Is it just me or does their fabric get cuter and cuter?

If you have any questions about any of these items give us a call! We're more than happy to help you and even put things on hold until you can come try them on.

Have a good weekend!
