Pretty lil' Pinwheels

These cute and easy to make pinwheels are perfect for adding some pizzaz to any summer party you might be hosting.

Why not use some red white and blue paper to spice up your 4th of July festivites!

Cut a thin dowel or skewer to desired length (clip pointed end from skewer); paint and let dry. Choose two coordinating sheets of origami or lightweight paper. Cut a square from each the size you'd like your pinwheel to be (ours range from 3 to 6 inches). Use spray mount to glue squares together. Fold in half, diagonally, and in half again, then unfold. Cut along each crease two-thirds of way to square's center, dividing each corner into two points. Bring every other point to center so points overlap. Hold in place, poke a pushpin through center, and, keeping points in place, remove pushpin. Insert a map pin into hole formed (the pushpin hole is slightly larger than circumference of the map pin, enabling the pinwheel to spin). Thread a small bead onto pin behind the wheel, and poke pin into dowel 1/2 inch from top. To prevent wood from splitting, soak the dowel tip in water before inserting map pin.

Many of you are probably really familar with Dogeared's unique and delicate jewelry. Dogeared has been around for 20 years, based in California and is inspired by natural beauty. They say that "we will always design with the planet in mind and support nonprofit groups working to heal the environment and create social change."

We see that in their designs and the messages that accompany each necklace.

 

 

We carry their classics like the Karma necklace and the Healing Gems but we love their everchanging catolog as well. These little anchor earrings are my personal favorite.

We Love New Items!

We love this dress by Tulle! It is the perfect summer dress that can be dressed up or down for casual occasions or formal ones!

This picture really does not do this dress justice! The print is so detailed and the fabric is amazing! It falls perfectly and fits great!

This shirt by Gentle Fawn looks awesome with our Joe's jeggings. It would also look great with a cute pair of cargo pants. We have many different options so come in and see them for yourself!

The cute rope belt makes this maxi dress nautical and feminine!

Fossil makes this amazing cross body purse that is the perfect size. Not too big, not too small... just right!

Alex and Ani

Alex and Ani bracelets are manufactured in the USA and reuse recycled materials in their effort to be an eco-friendly company. Their collections are always meaningful to "uplift and inspire those who wear them."

The bracelets that we all know and love are a Russian Gold which has a bronze hue, and will continue to change slightly as you wear it. If you own one of these bracelets and have had any trouble with black markings, they suggest cleaning it with mild soap and a soft cloth (jewelry cleaners can be too harsh on the metal) because the black is due to a build up of dirt and oil.

Summer Recipe!

Want the perfect dessert recipe that is easy, light, and summery? Definitely! Morgan and I have one that is sure to satisfy your craving!

Fruit Pizza

Crust:
1 roll store bought sugar cookie dough (or make homemade dough with your favorite recipe!)

Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 8 oz package of cream cheese
2 Tbl butter (softened)
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups powdered sugar

Fruit:
We love strawberries, peaches, bananas, kiwi, blueberries and raspberries, but any fruit would be amazing!

Spread the sugar cookie onto a pizza pan or pie pan and cook according to directions or until golden brown. Let cool. Whip together the ingredients for the cream cheese frosting. Spread frosting on the crust and top with all your favorite fruit. Last, but not least cut and enjoy. Bon appetit!

Our Free People shipment we received was full of eye candy.
This simple, oatmeal colored shirt has just enough details on it to make your heart skip a beat.

Speaking of hearts, I love these Tiny Toms. Every time I see a little munchkin wearing these I want to pick them up and give them a big hug. Don't worry, I control myself. We're expecting to get a lot more colors and styles soon.

We have never carried these Armelle earrings before and are sad we haven't until now.  We're in love!

Many of you probably recognize this necklace....

We love carrying Nashelle. There is just something special about being able to make it your very own by choosing your initials and gems. Nashelle is known for staying local and using natural gems as well as recycled precious materials; recycled 14 kt gold fill and recycled sterling silver. We keep some initials, chains, and gems stocked in the store for you but if we don't have what you need we can order any initial, any gem, and in any combination that you want.

 We love these bars; names, dates, initials, anything that is special to you can be stamped.

This is the peridot gem but they have 27 to choose from. Each gem will be different in color and size because they are unique and natural gem stones.

We also carry a variety of their earrings. Always simple and perfect.

Look at what's new...

Classic French Connection button up with some pizazz. It's lightweight enough to wear with the Level 99 shorts on a day like today (the shorts are actually rolled up in this picture so if you want more length--problem solved.)

 

The LA Made Ruffle Tees arrived and we pulled them out of the box with a smile on our faces. How can you not be happy wearing it?! So many colors to choose from too; white, oatmeal, royal blue, coral, gray, violet, moss, and more.

Hope can rock any jeans we have in the store---her feet are under there somewhere. :)

 You have to see the detail of the pockets on this Citzens of Humanity "Super Flare". I may use words like 'cute' and 'love' a lot but I do not use them lightly. These are the coolest jeans I have seen since January.

Most of you probably have an LA Made skirt by now but I know you don't have this soft cotton Free People tank to wear with it...

Also in the French Connection shipment was this tunic/dress (you decide) which can be worn on or off the shoulder-light cotton and a unique print.

I have a serious addiction to Michael Stars, probably because I wear them for years and never feel like it is outdated.

We have obsessed over Splendid Littles but we have new Splendid for you too. And don't say, "I have too many stripes in my closet" because yes...you do need them.
